Notes From The Office

Returning Students for 2010-2011 School Year
By January 31, 2010, GWA needs to know if your children will be returning for the next school year. An e-mail was sent out to all families asking you to fill out the online form if your children will be returning to GWA or not returning. If you need the e-mail sent to you again, contact the office at 673-2232.

KINDERGARTEN
All new kindergarteners for 2010-2011 need to have an application on file at GWA. If you have a younger child entering kindergarten next year, please fill out an application by Jan 31.

GUIDELINES FOR AFTER-SCHOOL PICK-UP
Parents and Carpool Drivers: It is recommended for all drivers to go through the carpool line to pick up students after school. At 2:45, a staff person will begin calling carpool names from the parking lot.

If you need to pick up your child(ren) inside the school instead of waiting in the carpool line, go to the office window by 2:35 PM and ask for your child’s name or carpool name to be placed on the “pick-up call list”.

Volunteers in the school at the end of the day should have their carpool name put on the call list. if you come into the school to pick-up students, wait in the lobby until your students join you. For safety reasons, we are asking parents, drivers and siblings not to go to the classrooms to pick up students. If your students do not come to you in the lobby, let the office staff know, so the name can be called again.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR COOPERATION

Exciting News!!

GWA choir is going to present the Kids’ Version of “Willie Wonka” on May 6th. Any students in grades 3-8 who are interested in being part of this fabulous production is invited to join the fun!

Rehearsals will be each Friday from 12:30-1:30. Regular attendance at rehearsals is expected, and attendance in the last month of prep is MANDATORY unless there is an illness. There will be two SATURDAY rehearsals: April 24th and May 1st. Parents must free up those two dates and commit to having their children be there.

We are going to have costuming, choreography, props, new lighting and extended sound production. In order to fund this, we are asking each student to pay $20 participation fee. Those with siblings in the production will only pay $30, not $40.

If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Whiteside at school. This is going be to absolutely SCRUMPTILICOUS!!!!

Mrs. Whiteside

NEW HOT LUNCH CATERER

We have a new caterer for Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursdays with exciting new changes! For the same price as before, the new lunches feature bigger portions, and extra side item, and more popular kid-friendly entrees. GWA parent Susan Teeples bravely stepped up on short notice to take over this big job, and so far the feedback from students has been fantastic! An e-mail will be coming soon with more information and details.
